Tender Goodbyes
Ruth trained as a Funeral Celebrant with the IIOC. She calls her celebrant services ‘Tender Goodbyes’ as she thinks this encapsulates the task of the funeral celebrant: to help family and friends to say goodbye to their loved one, tenderly. She sees it as a privilege to craft a funeral or memorial service, a graveside goodbye or the scattering of ashes as the family or friends would wish.
Ruth is happy to travel anywhere in Leinster to help with a service. Ruth has taught extensively at second level and has spent many years as a guidance counsellor.
Ruth is an attentive and compassionate listener, and is organised and dependable. Her role is craft a service which follows the wishes of the family or friends. The ceremony can be religious, spiritual, or completely civil and family and friends are encouraged to be as She feels that every word spoken, every reading heard and every musical note should echo the individuality of the deceased person, and the deep love in which they were held.
